Mission Statement
Friends of Calaveras Animal Services (FOCAS) is non-profit organization dedicated to enhancing a humane Animal Services program for the people and animals of Calaveras County, California. Comprised entirely of volunteers, it is dedicated to relieving over-crowding at the county animal shelter through spay and neuter and community education; promoting the health of abused and abandoned animals; reducing unnecessary euthanasia; and helping to expedite the movement of homeless dogs, cats and other animals into permanent, loving homes.

FOCAS needs volunteers!
FOCAS needs volunteers on Wednesdays to transport feral cats between the Calaveras County Animal Shelter in San Andreas and Blue Oak Veterinary Hospital in Jackson for spay/neuter appointments.
